General Operating Policies
Parents must accompany their children upon arrival into the building. Do not send
your child into the building alone. Pickup of your child by anyone, other than those people listed on your release form, will not be allowed without written notice from
you. You must come inside the building to pick up your child. Children will not be sent out of the building to a waiting car. Children may not leave the building for any
reason, without a supervising adult. Children may not re-enter the building for any reason, without an accompanying adult, especially at dismissal time.
It is important that each child has an extra set of clothing at the center, two sets
of clothing for infants and toddlers please (socks, underwear, shirt and pants). A special blanket is also important for your child's nap time. Diapers (disposable
only), wipes, and all food and clothing items MUST BE LABELED before they are left at the center.
WEATHER PERMITTING, ALL CHILDREN will participate in outside play daily.
There is a required quiet time for resting on individual cot everyday. Books,
soothing music, and storytelling are often shared during this part of the day.
Payment Policies
A non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration. The amount of
this registration fee is automatically credited towards your child's first tuition payment.
A non-refundable deposit of two weeks tuition is due with the registration fee or at
least two months before your child begins. This deposit is applied to your child's last two weeks of attendance.
Tuition is due and payable, in advance, on the first of each month. Payments are
always based on full time attendance. Absences from the center for sick days, inclement weather or vacations are not refundable. Extra fees are charged for
tuition payment after the seventh of each month, late pick up, early drop off, and returned checks.
A ten percent (10%) discount is applied to the tuition of additional students from
the same family attending during the same period. This discount applies to all programs offered at the Northwest Children's Center, Inc.
Health
If your child becomes ill during the day, you will be called to pick up your child
early. An isolation area is available so your child will be comfortable while waiting for you. If your child is running a temperature or is not feeling well, please do not bring your child to the center.
All medication to be administered at the center must be accompanied with a
signed letter of authorization by you and your physician. The parent must present the medication and signed authorization form to a head teacher upon arrival.
Food
It is the parent's responsibility to send lunch daily. Please do not send candy,
gum or soda. We are happy to heat or chill any meal you send with your child. Children over a year old should be fed breakfast before they arrive at school. All
prepared bottles, nipples and baby food must also be provided daily. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon nutritious snacks and milk at lunchtime will be provided for older children.
Calendar
This children's center is open fifty-one (51) weeks per year, closing the week
between Christmas and New Year's, and the following holidays:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and a two-day Thanksgiving holiday
(Thanksgiving day and the following day).
The center is open five days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Parents
Please help us keep our lines of communication open so that special
occurrences, both at home and at school can be shared. We will both be better able to understand and guide your child.
Your suggestions and ideas for making this children's center a better place for
your children to be are important to us. Please do not hesitate to join us for any part of OUR day. You are always welcome.
