Program

The educational focus of this children's center uses a discovery approach to learning which stresses hands on and child directed materials and builds on the natural inventiveness and curiosity of children of this age. Structured learning centers and small group activities are coordinated daily with carefully planned periods of free choice and large group activities. Music, art and the exploration of developmental language skills are an integral part of the children's daily schedule. Respect, love, sharing and problem solving are the cornerstones of our educational program

THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

 Preschool Program

The learning environments, with their two spacious classrooms, include learning centers with teacher made materials for art, math, science, music, language arts and dramatic play. Exciting exploration is further enhanced by equipment such as sensory tables, a large block building area and a motor room complete with indoor climbers, tunnels, and tumbling mats. The safe outdoor play yard features a large hardtop area for riding toys, as well as a grassy hillside equipped with swings, climbers, a sand play area and playscape.

 Infant Toddler Program

The learning environments feature areas for teacher guided, small group exploration including dramatic play, block building, art and shared reading. Our unique bathroom facilities are complete with an infant bathtub, changing tables, and a toddler area with miniature lavatory and toilet to help facilitate independent grooming and toileting skills. The outdoor play area is equipped with a large sandbox, swings, a climbing hill, tire climbers and a hard top for riding toys. It is adjacent to, but separate from, our preschooler's play area.

 Kindergarten Program

Our full day program focuses on skill development in language arts, math and science using a hands on, holistic approach. It offers small-group and individual instruction to children augmented with whole-group enrichment activities. Child directed discovery learning is facilitated through the use of learning centers in the classroom.
